Professor Milena Mileva Blažić graduated from the Department of Comparative Literature and Literary Theory at the Faculty of Arts and Science in 1985. She gained a master's degree in Slovenian literature at the University of Ljubljana (Slovenia) in 1997 and successfully defended her doctoral thesis in 2001. She works at the Faculty of Education, University of Ljubljana. As a researcher she is active in the field of humanities, literary theory, Slovenian literature and Slovenian literature methodology. Blažić is a member of two scientific associations: Nordic Network for Children's Literature and International Research Society for Children's Literature (IRSCL). Blažić has also been active internationally as a visiting professor at universities in Wien, Graz, Trieste, and Zagreb. Between 2006 and 2008 she was secretary of Slavic Association of Slovenia. Since 2006 she has also worked as a Councillor in the City Council at the Ljubljana Municipality. Recent papers published in: Branja mladinske književnosti (2011, 2014), Skriti pomeni pravljic (2014), Mladinski klasiki (2016) and other.
